I ask only one thing, LORD: Let me live in your house every day of my life to see how wonderful you are and to pray in your temple. Psalm 27:4 (CEV)
We often comment how it seems like our neighborhood never stops growing. New houses are going up all the time and weekends see a steady stream of cars going to the model homes. Time and money are spent trying to create the perfect home on earth. There are even those who claim they have created that place.
The Psalmist knew that God promised a home in heaven. A home, that with an eternal design knows no earthly comparison. Even in the most magnificent palace or incredible mansion falls short of the splendor of that promised place. Jesus told his disciples that he was going ahead to prayer that heavenly home. A dwelling crafted carefully for those who love God and live with His hope.
In our consumer driven world, we don’t often focus on other world things. Sometimes the comfort of what we know becomes the motivation for life. It becomes hard to even imagine what heaven must be like. So, we must create moments when we know the anticipation of heaven. To be consumed by the place where we will live in the wonder of the one who makes heaven special!
